Ernest J. Baynum, 84, of Cold Spring, passed away on October 28, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Fort Thomas, KY.

Mr. Baynum was a retired mail clerk with the DAV Cold Spring, KY. Mr. Baynum was also a machinist for the George Wiedemann Brewing Co, and the Heileman Brewing Co. in Newport, KY. Mr. Baynum was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of the DAV in Cold Spring, a lifetime member of Kersten O'Day VFW, and an active volunteer at the V.A. Hospital in Ft. Thomas he was a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the National Order of Trench Rats.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann (Schuerman) Baynum and daughter, Candice Louise Baynum. He is survived by his daughter, Jeannette Peters, his son, Steven Baynum, also grandchildren Amber and Brandon Peters.

Visitation 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Fort Thomas Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am Monday, November 3, 2014, at St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring, Kentucky. Burial will take place in the St. Stephen Cemetery Fort Thomas, Kentucky.
