Ruschman, 93, of Melbourne, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Carmel Manor Nursing Home in Fort Thomas. He was a WWII Army Air Corp Veteran. He was a retired Clerk with the C & O Railroad. He was a lifetime member of St. Philip's Church, Alexandria VFW, 351st Bomb Squad, Melbourne Volunteer Fire Dept. and St. Vincent DePaul Society. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ambrose Ruschman; parents, Peter and Elizabeth (Holters) Ruschman; brothers, Ed, Amos, Harold and Louis Ruschman; sisters, Alfrieda Boyers, Viola Geiger and Elizabeth Rice. Elmer is survived a daughter, Beth (John) Finn; son, Tom Ruschman; 3 grandchildren, Sarah (Brandon) Carrier, William Finn and Julie Finn (Colin Burch); 2 great-granddaughters, Mary and Rose Carrier; sister, Mary Jane Thaler; many nieces and nephews. Visitation 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, October 20 at Muehlenkamp-Erschell Funeral Home, 427 S. Ft. Thomas Ave., Fort Thomas. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 21 at St. Philip's Church, Melbourne, KY. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, Cold Spring, KY. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, c/o St. Philip's Church, 1400 Mary Ingles Hwy., Melbourne, KY 41059.
