Joseph F. Vice, Jr, 74, long-term resident of Covington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2014, after an extraordinarily hard-fought battle with cancer.

Joe was born on August 17, 1940 to the late Joseph and Helen Vice, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He worked as a drywall hanger and finisher, and he was a retired union carpenter. Joe enjoyed many remodeling projects. He never knew a stranger, was always willing to help a friend, and always looked for the good in people. Joe loved his family, friends, and his animals (his current love “Mona Lisa”).

He is preceded in death by his sister Barbara, grandson, James Henson, great-granddaughter, Emily Plybon.

Joe is survived by Jennifer Vice, his wife of 47 years. He was a loving father to: Dana Vice, Joseph Vice, Jamie Vice, John Plybon, Jackie Vice, and David Vice. He was a proud grandfather to: Amanda Vice, Jena Armstrong, Anthony (AJ) Vice, Maranda Vice, Jacob Vice, Gage Vice, Tiffany Taylor, Sophia Vice, Johnathon Plybon, Jessica Plybon, Elizabeth Plybon, Josh Plybon, and 14 Great-Grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 6, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Middendorf Funeral Home, 3312 Madison Pike, Ft. Wright, Kentucky 41017. Service will take place at the funeral home beginning at Noon. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Erlanger, Kentucky.
