Zara Paige Hammonds was born January 23, 1974. She was the 9th child of 12 children to be born to the late Robert Obbie Hammonds and Shirley Ann Hammonds, both of Cincinnati, Ohio. Zara went to sleep with the Lord on September 17, 2014. The Lord gently touched her eyes and gave her the gift of rest.

Zara was born in the Catholic faith, later finding her own faith, she joined Solid Rock Ministries. Zara went to Sands Montessori Elementary, eventually going to Western Hills High School. After leaving Western Hills, she went on to visit family in California, Virginia, and Atlanta. Upon returning home from Atlanta, she was very proud to introduce her beautiful baby girl Giezelle Davis whom she loved and cherished gently.

Zara moved to Milford, Ohio, where she went on to further her education to Brown Mackie College, where she received her degree in Medical Coding. After receiving her degree, she went to work with the University of Cincinnati. Zara was planning to further her education when the lord called her home.

Zara loved spending time with her daughter, Giezelle whom was the light of her life. Zara enjoyed reading, traveling, shopping with her Aunt Betty, going to bingo with Dee Dee (sister), hanging out with her best friend Artee, her cousin Temeka, babysitting her nieces and nephews.

Zara leaves to cherish in her memory: her loving daughter, Giezelle Davis, who is in her last year of high school hoping to continue her education in San Diego. She also leaves Sabrina Thomas (Thomas) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Robert (Bobby) Hammonds (Avonda), Cherise Coston of Atlanta, Georgia, Mark Hammonds (Mary) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Dedra Cromwell, Aron Hammonds of Somerset, Kentucky, Daryl (Alisha) Hammonds, Ajene (Jackie) Hammonds, Andwelle Hammonds of Kentucky, Cameron Hammonds of Kentucky, special nephews, Chris Thomas, Carlos Thomas and Destini Nult. She leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Lee Chapel A.M.E., 2009 Pogue Street , Cincinnati (45208) with visitation from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. Interment at Vine Street Hill Cemetery.
