Shirley (Schmeusser) Tuemler, of Edgewood, KY, passed away on August 19th, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Medical center in Edgewood. Born on March 14th, 1933 in Colerain, OH to George and Frieda Schmeusser. Shirley is survived by her husband of 66 years, Paul Tuemler; daughter, Penelope (Russ) Conrad, son, George (Beth) Tuemler, daughter, Hope (Pat) Conroy and daughter Amy (Dale) Miles, and brother Carl (Jean) Schmeusser. She leaves behind her grandchildren: Joseph (Ashley) Conrad, Rachel (James) Fausz, Erin (Joe) Hermann, Matthew (Erin) Tuemler, Ryane Conroy, Meredith Conroy, Paul Miles, and Emma Miles. Shirley was instrumental in starting the Wool Festival in Pendleton County. For many years she was the costume director for the musicals produced at the Pendleton County High School as well as Kincaid Regional Theater. She was highly involved in all school activities with her children but continued to volunteer even after they had graduated. When there was a need for assistance she was always available and in doing so made a wonderful and positive impact on the lives of many children.

In the last several years, Shirley volunteered at the Hospice Care of St. Elizabeth in Edgewood. She enjoyed exploring her family genealogy and took great pride in sharing that information with others. She liked reading historical books and working on the computer. Collecting antiques was a hobby and for many years she could be seen with her children at auctions and antiques stores making wonderful memories. Shirley had a gentle loving presence, made friends with ease and shared a kindness that is not easily forgotten.

She embodied the best qualities of mom, gran, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Through her life and light she showed us the best way to live and she will forever be in our hearts.
