Sophia Vilkoski Cahill , 98 of Fort Thomas, passed away on April 14, 2014 at Carmel Manor, Fort Thomas, KY.

Sophia retired as office manager of the Martin branch of the Kentucky Department of Mines and Minerals. She lived for many years in Drift, KY (Floyd county) and was very active with the Altar Society of St. Juliana's parish. She served as president for the Drift Women's Club (GFWC) and the Mountain Deanery of DCCW. She opened her home as a residence for VISTA Volunteers. After retirement she moved to Ft. Thomas and was active at St. Catherine's parish, especially in the Sienna Seniors and the Altar Society. She was an avid bridge player and quilt maker.

Born April 18, 1915 in Murray City, OH to the late William Vilkoski and Stella Chichucki Vilkoski.

She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Joseph Cahill and daughter, Mary Clare Gray.

Sophia is survived by her Daughter, Rita Lee (Ray) Henschen of Fort Thomas, KY, Son, Michael J. (Jeanne) Cahill of Cypress, CA., Son, Rev. John W. Cahill of Villa Hills, KY, Sister, Violet Carpenter of Powhatan Point, OH, Brother, John Vilkoski of Hamilton, OH, and Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1803 North Fort Thomas Ave., Fort Thomas, Kentucky.

Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6:30 pm Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, with Rev. Stef Bankemper, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, Kentucky.
