Craig F. Byrne, age 78, of Finneytown, formerly of Covington, KY and Ft. Lauderdale FL, passed away February 26, at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center from complications of pneumonia. He worked for Westheimer’s Stock Brokerage, as a commercial loan officer for Provident Bank and in his later years at Franciscan Health Systems Security. He was an Army Korean War Veteran. He was an avid fan of fine arts and opera; he was a member of the Metropolitan Opera Guild.

Mr. Byrne is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joanne Byrne (nee Deters). Daughters, Mary McKenzie (James P.), Frances Lee (Daniel); grandsons Philip McKenzie, James (Emily) McKenzie, Jeff (Becca) McKenzie, Army SPC Daniel T. Lee of Ft. Lewis, WA; granddaughters, Jamie Hahn (Braden), Allison Donaldson (Jim), three great grandchildren, Aubrey, Jacob and Brooke. He was preceded in death by his parents Thanks and Maxine Byrne and brother, David Byrne all of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Also survived by sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Schappert and brother-in-law, Fr. Fred Deters, SJ; and three nephews and a niece.
