Robert Loyd Fetters of Blanchester, OH was born July 23, 1920 to John Wesley and Pearl (nee Mahaffey) Fetters went to be with his Lord on June 25, 2016 from the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, OH where he spent the last 7 months of his life.

He was a WWII Army Veteran, fought during the Normandy Invasion and Battle of the Bulge and received 4 Bronze Stars. He received a Letter of Commendation from Dwight D. Eisenhower, served under General Jimmy Doolittle and helped start the Army Air Corps. He took part in the Honor Flight in 2010.

He retired from the Cincinnati Milacron as an inspector in 1985. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Blanchester where he was Superintendent and Deacon for many years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, AMVETS, and the DAV. He was a Highland High School Basketball Star , still known today as "66. "

He is survived by his children, Stephen (Carole) Fetters, Deborah (Mike) Rains, Judith Meineke; grandchildren, Troy (Marilyn) Meineke, Rachael (Brad) Insco, Gretchen Meineke, Kyle (Amber) Donaldson, Lincoln Donaldson, and Tarah Donaldson, and Lora (Art) Freeland, and 10 great grandchildren; sister, Virginia (Jack) Howsman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, of 61 years Eloise Hodson Fetters; brothers, Carl Fetters, Harold Fetters, John Fetters Jr. He surrendered his life to Christ in 1949.

Friends will be received on Wednesday June 29, 2016 from 6-8 PM at the Tufts Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home, 120 W. Main St. Blanchester, OH 45107, where services will be held on Thursday at 2 PM.

Interment Centerville Cemetery, Lees Creek, OH.

Family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Ohio Valley Veterans Nursing Home, 2003 Veterans BLVD Georgetown, OH 45121, checks made payable to OVH-G for RBF.
