David Doran Blum, age 61, passed away on June 21, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was the loving father of Daniel, Jeffrey (Meredith) and Elizabeth Vollmer (Christopher) and grandfather of Evelyn; Beloved son of Mary Joan (Stiene) and the late Richard Blum; Dear brother of Rick (Debbie), Larry (Sue), Janet Chap (Rick), Marilyn Donovan (John) and Mary Beth Hines (Bill). Nancy Blum, mother of his children, and many nieces and nephews also survive David.

David was a proud graduate of Saint Xavier High School and the University of Cincinnati College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (UC-CEAS). After a long career at Kirk and Blum Manufacturing Company and later Ceco Environmental, David spent his time supporting UC as an Entrepreneur in Residence for the UC Technology Accelerator for Commercialization, a member of the CEAS Advisory Council and the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Advisory Board.

He also served as President of the Lincoln W. Pavey Educational Foundation, member of the UC Sigma Chi House Corporation Board, and on fundraising committees for the USO and the Salvation Army. David was an avid golfer and UC Bearcats fan.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 24 from 3-6pm at Geo. H. Rohde & Son Funeral Home, Mt. Lookout Square (complimentary valet provided). Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lord Christ the King Church, 3223 Linwood Ave., 45226, on Saturday, June 25 at 10:00am, followed by burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
