George John Dirkes, 71, of Covington, KY, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016, at his residence. George worked as an electrician and was a Kentucky Colonel.

He is survived by his wife Jo Ann Dirkes, children Timothy Dirkes (Becky) and Gregory Dirkes (Emily), 3 grandchildren: Kylie, Hannah, and Karley, brother Henry Dirkes (Beverly), sister Mary Margaret Metzger, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 11am until 2pm at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger, KY. The funeral services will immediately follow, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Mother of God Cemetery.
