Beloved husband to the late Karen Marie (Peterson) McFarland, also from Cleveland, and loving father to Lynne (Michael) Archdeacon, Colleen (Andy) Schuster, and Kathleen (Brian) Pendergest. Devoted grandfather to Alyssa, Chad, Kyle, and Natalie Archdeacon, Claire, Sarah, and Nathan Schuster, and Laurel, Kenny, Sean, Sam, and Pete Pendergest. Son of the late William and Evelyn (Turner) McFarland, loving brother to Robert (Michele) McFarland, Virginia (late Terry) O’Malley, and Marie McFarland, brother-in-law and dear friend to Jan Peterson, and uncle to Jan, Brian (Sara), and Kevin (Janice) Peterson, Christopher O’Malley, Will Beckey, and Christine (Urban) Picard and Brian (Aimee) McFarland.

Kenneth attended Cleveland schools and graduated from St. Ignatius High School in 1960, The Case Western Reserve University and The University of Cincinnati with a Master’s Degree in Psychology. He had worked for General Electric for 38 years and later the City of Fairfield, Human Resource Director, for 9 years, but his love and attention were devoted to his daughters, their spouses, and his twelve grandchildren.

Ken enjoyed making pancake breakfast for the grandkids and sharing his tidbits of wisdom. He was always a gentleman, extremely wise, honest, and articulate, and known for his quick smile and love of chocolate chip cookies. His career on the athletic fields was full circle, coaching his daughters and grandchildren, and later being their biggest cheerleader with Karen.

He was a member of St. John Neumann Church, lifetime Fairfield Rotary member, Civitan Softball Coach, Hamilton SAY Soccer coach and referee, Board of Directors for Catholic Charities of Southwest Ohio, Greater Hamilton Civic Theater, United Way, and Fairfield City Volunteer of the Year 2009. He enjoyed teaching for Junior Achievement and as an adjunct professor at Thomas Moore College in their TAP program.

We love you immensely and miss you dearly, Ken. Until we meet again in Heaven, you will forever and always be our angel.
