Roy V. Setser age 89 of Hamilton passed away Monday January 25, 2016 at Ft. Hamilton Hospital. He was born October 11, 1926 in Franklin, Ohio, the son of the late Rev. T. J. and Member (Wells) Setser. On July 24, 1948 he married Thelma Abrams.

Mr. Setser was an electrician and a member of the IBEW Local 648 from 1956 until his retirement in 1988, and his two sons followed in his footsteps as electricians. He was a devout Christian who gave his life to Christ in June of 1968. He was a charter member and very involved at Faith Pentecostal Church, and actually gave the church its name.

Mr. Setser was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved traveling to Florida with his family. He is survived by his wife Thelma Setser; son Larry V. (Ruby) Setser; daughter in law Carrie Setser; grandchildren Cari A. (Gary) Gerber and Tara L. (Mark) Schiff; and great grandchildren Kelli, Lauren, and Clayton Gerber, and Sydney and Josey Schiff. Mr. Setser was also preceded in death by his son David W. Setser, whose passing greatly affected the family. Also preceding him in death was his father in law and mother in law Green and Betty Abrams, sisters Virginia Akers and Wanda Italiano, and his brothers Cecil Setser and James Setser.

Visitation 3-5 PM Sunday at THE WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME 3080 Homeward Way at Rt. 4, Fairfield. A service by the IBEW Local 648 will take place at 4:45 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday February 1, 2016 at Faith Pentecostal Church, 719 Kenworth Avenue in Hamilton with Pastor Rick Witt and his nephew Rev. James Setser, officiating. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
