Jan Terrier Austin was born August 2, 1960, the first daughter and third child for John and Martha Austin. From early on, Jan, who was known as Terry by close friends and family, always exhibited a strong tenacity for life and commitment to accomplishing her goals. This is evident in the extensive resume she created throughout her professional and personal life which includes graduating from Xavier University with an MBA and an illustrious career with the United States government. Her last position before retiring in 2014 was as the Director of Equal Employment Opportunity for the Employment & Training Administration office for the Department of Labor in Washington DC. After retirement, Jan finished her first novel, “The Marriage Bed is Undefiled”, which added the title of author to her resume.
His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Matthew 25:21.

Jan was called home to join her Heavenly Father on Monday May 18, 2015. While the impact of her loss is felt by many, her family takes solace in knowing that her faith and relationship with the Lord was strong and the most important aspect of her life. He called her home because it was His timing. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Thomas Austin and Martha Louise Austin. She is survived by her daughters, Erin Donaldson and Moriah Donaldson, her grandson, Jeremiah Gibson, and her brothers, James Hayes, Tyrone Austin, John Thomas Austin, and Jerald Austin.
