Sister Mary Sheila Felix, SND, was born on January 15, 1915, in Cincinnati, Ohio. When she was three years old her mother, Anabel, died leaving her father, Harry, to raise the five children.

The family was placed at St. Aloysius Orphanage, Cincinnati, where they attended elementary school.

From there Sister Mary Sheila entered Notre Dame Academy in Covington, KY. After graduation, she joined the Notre Dame Sisters and made her profession of vows on August 13, 1935.

Sister Mary Sheila celebrated her 100th birthday on January 15, 2015. Most of her long life was spent working in education. During many of these years she taught in elementary schools in Ohio and Kentucky. Her last place of ministry was St. Columban School, Loveland, Ohio, where she spent fifteen years. She also taught at Notre Dame Academy for a total of nineteen years.

Sister was preceded in death by her parents, by her brothers: Harold, Robert, and Leonard, and by her sister, Norma. Sister leaves behind nieces and nephews.

Visitation begins at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, at the Provincial House, St. Joseph Heights, followed by a Wake Service at 5:00 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial at 7:00 p.m. in the convent chapel. Interment will be Saturday morning in the convent cemetery at 9:30 a.m.
