Kenneth A. "Henry" Horney, Esq., was born in Cincinnati to Edwin and Anna Horney on October 18, 1932. He attended Withrow and Purcell High Schools and graduated from Purcell in 1950.

After high school he enlisted in the US Army under the G.I. Bill and went on active duty only a few days after the end of the Korean War. He attended Xavier University and played freshman basketball, then went on to earn his law degree at the University of Cincinnati.

He worked as an Administrative Law Judge for the State of Ohio until his retirement. Ken was an active volunteer giving his free time to Habitat for Humanity, Working in Neighborhoods, Doctors without Borders and others. He was also a member and strong supporter of Alcoholics Anonymous and had been in recovery for the past 28 years.

He was an avid genealogist who authored a 200-page book on his family history, enjoyed travelling, sports, Shakespeare, telling jokes, and spending time with his family.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Anna (nee Hackmann); two brothers Harold Horney and Eugene Heatherton; a sister Georgiann Tarpoff; his first wife Joan (nee Jacob); his second wife Ruth (nee White); and twin daughters Margaret and Mary.

Kenneth is survived by his three sons Philip (Lisa), Joseph (Anne) and Nathan (Nicole); seven grandchildren Caroline, Thomas, Nathan, Jessica, Michael, Lucy and Owen. Friday, February 27, 2015. Age 82.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Dominic Church, 4551 Delhi Pike, Tuesday, March 3 at 10:00am. Visitation before mass will begin in the Church Gathering Room at 9:00am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati at www.hospiceofcincinnati.org/donate.shtml. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Hospice of Cincinnati and the Bayley Place Nursing Home for their support in his final days. Rohde Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
