Frank E. Miller, Jr. passed away Nov. 14, 2014. He was born on December 5, 1936 in Harrison Ohio to parents Frank & Estella (nee Smith) Miller. Frank had 4 sisters, Marilyn, Norma, Mary Ann and Patricia. He was baptized into the catholic faith, at St. John Catholic Church in Harrison. He attended grade school until the 8th grade, then moving on to the Harrison High School. After graduation, Frank attended Albion College in Albion, Michigan for 2 years.

In 1955 (during high school), he started working for A & P Food Chain at the Harrison Avenue location. Frank continued to work there for 28 years, and was the manager of the Harrison Store for 3 years.

In 1965, he married Joan Spaeth. She was from Okeana, Ohio and they lived on Dick Road for 3 years until they bought a 40-acre farm in Bright, Indiana.

Frank went into business as an independent grocery operator (IGA) in Oxford, Ohio in 1983. He bought the Harrison store in 1988 and later retired in 1998.

Frank enjoyed yard work, and adorning the yard with flowers. He enjoyed model trains and building displays. He had a talent for creating floral arrangements and decorating the house for Christmas, Easter, and other holidays. He spent time golfing, traveling, and was an excellent cook. He had an "office morning" routine and could be found every day of the week either at McDonald's or the Harrison Bakery.

He loved his family, especially his nieces & nephews and their children. He will be truly missed by all those whose lives he touched.

Frank's family includes loving wife: Joan (nee Spaeth); cherished siblings: the late Marilyn (Aaron) Curry, Norma (Dick) Middendorf, the late Mary Ann Hollin, and the late infant Patricia Miller; brother-in-law: Bob (the late Jane) Spaeth; devoted nieces & nephews: Cindy (the late Dan) Reed, Cathy (Paul) Lee, Carol Sue (Brian) Upchurch, Richie (MaryAnn) Middendorf, Hal (Sheila) Curry, Steve Curry, Doug (Helen) Curry, Tom (Tonja) Curry, Jenny (Ed) Menkhaus, John (Emily) Spaeth, Mike Hollin, Christie Yancer, and Larry Hollin. Also survived by extended family, the Zoller Family and Frank’s train helper, Landen.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014 from 5-8 PM at Brater Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St. Harrison, OH 45030.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014 at St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, Bright, IN.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, Food for the Poor, or to St. Teresa Benedicta Church of the Cross through the funeral home.
