Bhati, Shammi, 66, wife of the late Dr. Anant R. Bhati and cherished mother, daughter, sister and grandmother, passed away on November 15, 2014 in Cincinnati, with her son by her side.

She is survived by her son Amar, daughter Shan, daughter-in-law Tanu, grandson Ronan and large extended family. Born on November 27, 1947 in Jodhpur, India, she was raised by her parents in New Delhi with her beloved brother Kuldeep where she attended the Convent of Jesus and Mary. After graduating, she went on to the Maharani College for Women in Jaipur, before marrying Dr. Bhati in 1970 in Jodhpur, India.

They soon moved to London, England for Dr. Bhati’s training in Ob/Gyn and eventually settled in Cincinnati where they raised their two children and established strong roots in the community. Along with managing Dr. Bhati’s medical practice, Mrs. Bhati’s mission was always to help those in need, most often anonymously. When Dr. Bhati passed away in 2012, she was instrumental in establishing an endowment in his name at the University of Cincinnati.

Funeral Services and visitation will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at the Gwen Mooney Funeral Home, 4389 Spring Grove Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45223(513-853–1035).
